Northern Lights & Reindeer Experience
Join us for an unforgettable evening at our reindeer fence, where you’ll have the chance to meet the reindeer and learn about their yearly cycle and the traditions of reindeer herding. The experience includes roasting reindeer sausages over an open fire, served with homemade hot berry juice in a cozy, traditional hut. Warm up by the fire while waiting for the northern lights to appear.
While the aurora is a natural phenomenon and cannot be guaranteed, you’ll still get up close with the reindeer, immerse yourself in local culture, and try “suopunki” throwing – the traditional lasso technique used to catch reindeer.
This activity offers an authentic taste of the Arctic lifestyle, combining local culture, and the magical northern sky.

BOOKABLE & DURATION
Every day from 8 PM to 10 PM from December to April. Duration is two hours.
LOCATION & TRANSPORT
The activity is located about 1 kilometer from Ivalo Airport and 10 kilometers from the center of Ivalo, from where transport can be arranged (max. eight people).
GROUP SIZE
Two to eight people. The maximum group size is 20 people, if no transportation is needed. For large groups, please contact us in advance by email.
*There is no minimum group size for private visits.
WEATHER LIMIT AND CLOTHING
The weather limit for the activity Aurora hunting with reindeer is -25 degrees. This outdoor activity require warm clothes and good, warm shoes. It is possible to rent clothes through us by contacting in advance.
SERVING
Sausages and hot berry juice, hot chocolate or tea. Please let us know your vegan preference or any food allergies when booking.
PRICE
120 euros per person. Private visit for 2–4 people is €700 total.
