Kota Dinner in the Traditional Hut

Book an unforgettable dining experience in a traditional kota! A three-course dinner, made from local ingredients, is prepared over an open fire in a traditional hut located right next to our reindeer fence. During the dining experience, you can also meet the reindeer and watch the sky for the Northern Lights! Come and discover the local culture and flavors of Lapland!

Lapland delicacies

Traditional reindeer tongue soup & Finnish rye chips with cold-smoked reindeer and fresh-salted fish from the area’s lakes with horseradish mousse (LF)

Reindeer herder’s Special

Reindeer fillet or roast cooked on an open fire and roasted Finnis ”puikula” potatoes served with creamy wild mushroom sauce and seasonal organic vegetables (LF)

Traditional Lapland dessert

Finnish soft bread cheese ”leipäjuusto” with homemade cloudberry compote and soot pan coffee (LF)

BOOKABLE & DURATION

Every day from December to April between 4PM to 7PM. Duration for the activity is 3 hours.

LOCATION & TRANSPORT

The activity is located in the Ivalo area. Transportation can be arrange max. eight people.

GROUP SIZE

Two to eight people.

WEATHER LIMIT AND CLOTHING

The weather limit for this activity is -25 degrees. We recommend warm clothes and good, warm shoes. It is possible to rent clothes through us by contacting in advance.

A three-course dinner made from local ingredients is prepared over an open fire. Vegan menus are also available!
